At DiveLife we are Secure
At DiveLife we take online security very seriously. Our online shopping system is protected using above industry-standard
security and we are always here to speak with you if you have any problems. However, that's only half the solution. In addition
to what we do, you need to take some precautions to ensure that your information is also safe and secure. Here is a guide to making
your online shopping as secure as possible.
Our security system
We use 2048bit encryption across a VeriSign secure socket layer (SSL). This is the industry standard - used by banks, retailers and
online grocers - and among the best software available today for secure commerce transactions. A SSL means that all of your personal
information - credit card details, name, address - is encoded when it's sent to us. This encryption ensures that no one can read it as
it travels over the Internet.
SSL Certificates
EV or Extended Validation SSL Certificates are issued to a specific company and verify that they offer secure shopping online. These
certificates are of the highest strength available and banks and companies have to go through rigorous checks to be able to qualify.
Like a driver's license, the certificate is issued by a certified authority, in this case VeriSign the world's leading Certificate Authority.
You can check to see that the link between you and DiveLife is secure by clicking on the VeriSign trust mark (the VeriSign Secured logo) in
the footer and confirming the information.
Look for security
When you log on to your account or go to purchase your goods you're placed into a secure environment where your data is encoded. This is shown
by the padlock symbol in the bottom right-hand corner of your Internet Explorer web browser (Other browsers may show it elsewhere - please check
their information for specifics). The padlock means that your personal information will be coded before it leaves your computer.
Mastercard® SecureCode™ & Verified by Visa (3D Secure)
To make you feel even more secure when shopping with DiveLife, we have recently introduced enhanced payment systems. We are now participating in
the Mastercard Securecode and Verified by schemes for Mastercard, Maestro, Visa, Visa Debit & Visa Electron cardholders only. These services provide
an additional level of security when placing an order and are compulsory for orders over £500 or for orders outside the UK.
To participate in the scheme you will need to register your details with your card issuer, who will be able to provide you with specific details on the
scheme.
If you experience any payment problems when placing an order via DiveLife.co.uk, we would recommend that you try to resubmit your payment details. If your
payment still fails, please contact your card issuer, to ensure there are no problems with your account, before contacting our customer service team.
Using DiveLife.co.uk
To help you, here are the precautions you should take while shopping online.
Keep passwords safe by:
- not writing it down or storing your password on your computer.
-
not giving anyone else access to your password. DiveLife will never
contact you to ask you for this information if you get an email or
a phone call asking for this information, a fraudster is at work.
-
changing your password immediately if you think that someone else knows
it you can do this by logging on your account and using the Change your DiveLife account password.
Make sure your password is secure
choosing a "strong" 6 to 15 character password is very important. Use a mix of letters
and numbers (like c4t or d0g), that you can remember without writing down. And avoid using
words that may be easy for others to guess, such as the name of a family member or pet.
Always log off:
finally, always click "Log off" when you've finished shopping with us, and always close your browser.
This will prevent others from gaining access to your account online.
If you think something is wrong
If you suspect that your account has been tampered with, contact us immediately on 0161 796 0300 or email
us on info@divelife.co.uk
