This program will take you from your current level as a Rescue Diver through to Instructor
What do I need to start?
You will need your own equipmetn as any professional needs to be comfortable with the equipment they use.
Materials for the DiveMaster, Assistant Instructor and IDC course are also needed
What will I do?
This package will take you from your current certification as Rescue Diver through to PADI Open Water Instructor.
The program takes you through the PADI Divemaster Course which ensures a broad spectrum of theory is covered as well as giving you the opportunity to perfect your skills to demonstration quality as well as supervising students and guiding divers.
Once you have completed the Divemaster Course the next step is to learn to pass on your knowledge to students by becoming an Instructor. This is split into two distinct sections, the Assistant Instructor Course and the Instructor Development Course, which are usually taken relatively closely together. Both courses train you how to teach the knowledge you gained whilst completing your training through to Divemaster.
The Assistant Instructor course guides you through teaching both the theory and the confined water skills.
The Instructor Development course then leads you on to teaching in Open Water and continuing education skills allow you to teach through to Divemaster level.
Once the IDC has been completed you can then apply to PADI to take The Instructor Exam (IE) which will allow you to qualify to become a PADI Open Water Instructor.
How long will it take?
The Career development Programmes are design to be scheduled around you and your timetable.
We normally recommend that this program takes at least six months. We feel this gives you time to learn from different instrcutors and experience being with students in a teaching environment
What will I need?
You will need to be a qualified PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent with another agency
Where can I go from here?
Who knows. Maybe you will decide you would like to teach some specialites or maybe you will be happy teaching students and encouraging those who haven;t dived before to explore the underwater world
