PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors), the world’s largest recreational diving organisation, has a new eLearning programme, which means that you can do the theory part of your PADI Open Water Diver course online whenever you’ve got time.

Sign up for PADI eLearning, and you will have instant access to the all the necessary theory and knowledge development. The system is very user-friendly - you follow a learning programme and complete the quizzes and assessments that pop up along the way. After each chapter there are questions about its contents. When you get these questions right, you advance to the next chapter.

However, diving is obviously more than just theory. The PADI eLearning system allows you to pick a local PADI Dive Centre at home or abroad where you will complete your in-water training with a PADI Instructor. As your eLearning progress is automatically logged, you just print out the page that confirms completion and present it to your PADI Instructor; it’s as easy as that!
