Do you want to be able to capture footage from your most amazing dives and show your friends and family just how fantastic the underwater world really is?

The PADI Underwater Videography course teaches you the best techniques to get excellent footage whilst maintaining control, buoyancy and ensuring safe diving.

This course covers all aspects of using a video camera including set-up, maintenance, shot composition and basic video editing, giving fantastic results.

this can be done with the new compact Fuji with HD video or a more elaborate setup of your own

What will I do?

The course consists of knowledge development and 3 open water dives which will cover:

The selection, maintenance, care and handling of underwater video equipment
?Safe diving practices while using underwater video equipment
Exposure, focus, and maintaining colour with video equipment
Shot types, lengths and camera moves
Developing a story line and shot sequencing
The planning, organization, procedures, techniques and problems of underwater videography
Knowledge Development
Knowledge Development is based on a self-study method, allowing you to study in your own time, at your own pace. Home study is backed up by an academic session with a PADI Instructor, to ensure full understanding of the required material.

Open Water Dives
Student must complete 3 Open Water dives to certify as a PADI Underwater Videography Diver. During these dives you will cover the assembly/disassembly of a video system, entry/exit techniques & underwater videography techniques.

How long will it take?

The PADI Underwater Videographer course is conducted over an evening of theory and pool work followed by dives arranged around you timetable

What will I need?

Students must be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

Minimum age is 12.

Where can I go from here?

Now that you are comfortable with diving with, shooting and handling the camera underwater, the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course will enhance and perfect your buoyancy. This will enable you to get those more difficult but rewarding shots without damaging the aquatic environment.

If you have completed 5 PADI Specialties & the PADI Rescue Diver course and have 50 logged dives, you qualify to register as a PADI Master Scuba Diver, the highest non-professional diver rating within PADI.
