Custom Divers Twin HaloBrett Thorpe

Manifold vulnerability is well known amongst the nitrox and technical
diving fraternity. We know that if a twinset is picked up by the
manifold, this can stress the isolator bar between the two valves, causing
it to bend. Then when the cylinders are dived, the result can be quite
severe bubble leakage from the O Ring Seats. Regrettably in this case
there is nothing that can be done, apart from educate the offender and
replace the manifold. This can be quite an expensive business, hence
Custom Divers wanted to design a product that would hinder untrained
people lifting the set by the manifold, and also provide a natural
acceptable carrying point that anyone would use, be they a diver or not.
The Twin Tanks Lift Bar System is simple to fit, well designed, and hugely
adaptable. Basically two anodised aluminium split collars can be attached
easily and quickly to the underside of the valves and manifold. Between
the two collars is a 316 stainless steel handle which is threaded,
allowing the diver to fit the TT Lift Bar to a variety of cylinders from 7
litre to 20 litre tank configurations. Usefully, because the collars are
split, there is no need to remove the valves to fit the TT, and all the
diver needs is a spanner and an Allen key.
As divers with un-manifolded systems can utilise this system too, Custom
Divers believe they have come up with a neat solution to an age old
problem.
